Step One:

Update Team Information with DI, Inc.

  1. Go to DI’s Resource Area and sign-in with your DI Account.
  2. Access your team’s information and make sure it is accurate.
  3. Be sure to select your team’s selected Challenge and Level, as well as add any Team Managers to the list.

Step Two:

Log In to RegisterYourTeam

  1. Go to RegisterYourTeam.org and sign in with your DI Account.
  2. Once signed-in, you will see all teams that belong to your DI Account.
  3. Start your team’s registration from the dashboard.  All available information will be imported from DI.

Step Three:

Team Members

Team Members can be most easily registered online by a parent or guardian.  Simply ask parents to go to the website below to fill out the form online. They will need their child’s Team Number.

Sending Instructions to Parents

We have created a letter you are welcome to send home with the team members or email directly to the parent that explains their part of the process. This version can be filled in on a computer and then copies can be printed. This version is meant to be printed and then filled out by hand.

Prefer parents fill out paper forms?

That is fine! Simply download the Team Member Registration Form and send it home with your team members. Parents complete, sign, and return it. Then, you fill in the information for each team member using the link above.

Note: At the bottom of the online form is a checkbox to designate that you are filling in the information from a signed form. Please keep a copy of the original form on file.

Step Four:

Appraisers

In order to hold successful Tournaments, we need individuals who are trained and prepared to score your team!

To make sure we have enough people available, all teams are required to provide a certain number of volunteers to be trained and serve as Appraisers at our Tournaments.  To find out how many Appraisers you are required to provide for your Regional Tournament, please see the box below.

Once you have found people ready to be Appraisers, have them sign up at:

www.registeryourteam.org/appraiser

Your Appraiser needs to know:

  • The Team Number of the team they are representing
  • The Team Number(s) of any team that a related child is a part of
The Appraiser form is designed to help us give each and every volunteer the best experience on Tournament day. With the information they provide, we can more easily find a role for them that they will be comfortable doing and give them the best chance to have a great time!

Sending Instructions to your Appraisers

Here is a sample message to ask someone to sign up as an Appraiser for your team:
Hello,

Thank you so much for volunteering to be an Appraiser and represent us at this year’s DI Tournaments! Without your willingness to give your time, our kids would not be gaining this amazing, creative experience and for that, we are truly grateful!

In order to sign-up to be an Appraiser, please go to www.registeryourteam.org/appraiser and fill out the form and survey there. It shouldn’t take too long and the information you provide will be crucial to helping find the best place for you on Tournament day. If you’ve never Appraised for DI before, feel free to go to www.dialabama.org/tournament-volunteer to read about Appraising.

Please make note that at the top of the form are the dates and times for Appraisal Training and the Tournaments. It is crucial that you attend the Training – you will not be allowed to appraise if you are not trained.

I’ve included below the Team Numbers you’ll need when signing up. These will let DI Alabama see what team you are representing and if you are related to any children on a DI team. They will make sure you are not asked to score your own child.

Team Number of the team you are representing: 102-_____

Thanks for helping us with this! You’ve made our year!

How Many Appraisers You Need

The number of Appraisers a team needs to provide for a Regional Tournament can be figured out by following a basic rule:

# of Teams at your School/Organization  +  1

For example, let’s say a school has 3 teams.  They need to provide 3 Appraisers, plus 1 – for a total of 4 Appraisers.

Step Five:

Support Volunteers

Support Volunteers are a crucial part of tournament day, but require less of a time commitment. These volunteers do not have to attend training and many roles only have a 2-hour time slot.  Your team’s Support Volunteers can register online at the link below.

http://www.registeryourteam.org/supportvolunteer

Sending Instructions to your Volunteers

Here is a sample message to ask someone to sign up as an Support Volunteer for your team:
Hello,

Thank you so much for volunteering to help out at our DI Tournament! Without your willingness to give your time, our kids would not be gaining this amazing, creative experience and for that, we are truly grateful!

In order to sign-up to be a Support Volunteer, please go to www.registeryourteam.org/supportvolunteer and fill out the form there. It shouldn’t take too long.  DI Alabama will then contact you to find out what kind of volunteer role interests you.  If you’ve never volunteered with DI before, feel free to go to www.dialabama.org/tournament-volunteer to read about both Appraising and Volunteering on Tournament days.

I’ve included below the Team Numbers you’ll need when signing up. These will let DI Alabama see what team you are representing.

Finishing Up

Your teams’ registration is complete when:
  • Your team’s Basic Information is in the system and accurate
  • All Team Managers and Assistant Team Managers have been added to their teams, and you mark that section as complete.
  • All Team Members have been added, and you mark that section as complete.
  • Enough Appraisers and Support Volunteers have been added for each of your teams.
After all the above is done, the website will show you that everything is good to go!

We cannot wait to see what incredible things our DI teams will show us this year!
