Due to the HIGH THREAT of severe weather today, we will DELAY the start of the North Region DIAL tournament tomorrow by 2 HOURS!! There will be NO DI activity TODAY at Bob Jones. Many schools all around the North Alabama area have dismissed students early, including Bob Jones High School, therefore, we are not able to get into the school to prepare this evening.
PLEASE use phone and email ASAP to get in touch with your team members, parents AND your appraisers so that everyone is aware of the delay!!
- We urge TMs to plan arriving to school 1.5 to 2 hours LATER than you had originally planned to arrive. Your later arrival will allow adequate time for your tournament officials to prepare for the tournament day. We have already printed our tournament programs, so we’ll just ask everyone to add 2 hours to all the times and our day should proceed smoothly!
- We will move as quickly as possible to get scores entered and coordinate our halftime events (including DI’s Got Talent!) so that we can still be ready to start our Awards Program by 3:45 or 4:00.
- If we have some damage this evening that impacts our region in a more serious manner (power outages, etc.), then I will send a notice to the television and radio stations in the early hours tomorrow morning, so please tune in to those media outlets
Please take all precautions this afternoon/evening and stay safe!! We look forward to a wonderful tournament tomorrow as the ALL CLEAR should be sounded around midnight tonight!
Thank you so much for your flexibility and understanding. We plan to have a GREAT day tomorrow!! |

Tournament time in North Alabama has finally arrived! The staff of your Regional Tournament is ready to greet and meet you for the March 3, 2012 Tournament. Mr. Robby Parker, Principal, and the staff of Bob Jones High School (BJHS) are eager to see all your splendid solutions and they join with me in welcoming you to their school.
We invite you to read carefully all information included in this memo so that your Destination into Imagination this year will be a successful trip. Please join us in urging each Creative Thinker to have a great and safe day while always remembering to show consideration and respect for the facilities and campus of BJHS. Volunteers will be available all day to guide team members and guests around the campus.
A few notes about additional details before the tournament: Be sure to submit the name of the one Volunteer person (an untrained worker over age 16 that will work a 1-2 hour shift helping with general tasks at the tournament) for your membership, if you have not done so yet. Before the tournament, the volunteers will receive a confirmation of assignments via email; last-minute volunteers may check in at the Volunteer desk anytime between 7:30 and 9:00 on tournament day to receive their assignment.
